Ribs Etc., which has always been locally owned and operated, was opened in 1986 by John Pomeroy less than a mile away from it's current location. The original location,  in a small strip shopping center, was a takeout only BBQ "joint."  After early success, and establishing itself as having some of the best BBQ in Atlanta, it became necessary to find a larger location to accommodate a growing clientele.  In 1992, Ribs Etc. moved to its current location, not only to cater to its growing take out crowd but also to become a full service neighborhood restaurant with an expanded menu and full service bar.

In 2005 Ribs Etc. was purchase by Clayton Cole, a former employee of Mr. Pomeroy. Then in 2009 Mitch Burdett, an important team member since 2005, joined Clayton as a Managing Partner.  Both Clayton and Mitch have long histories with Ribs Etc., as well as being lifelong residents of the Buckhead community.  It is their desire to continue Mr. Pomeroy's vision for Ribs Etc.  A neighborhood restaurant that serves the highest quality food, employs a friendly staff whose main goal is exceptional customer service, in a casual relaxed atmosphere.
